Meet Joanne Bialas - WIFI@Work
Joanne Bialas is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing of International Fasteners. Her "career" began in Customer Service, when she didn't even know what a fastener was. She previously served as both President and Chairwoman of the Southeastern Fastener Association (SEFA).
"I began in the fastener industry by answering a newspaper ad for a customer service position. I went to work for a fastener manufacturer in South Holland, Illinois. Of course, I had no idea what a fastener was and was so surprised to learn how many different types of fasteners there were just in the automotive sector alone.
Eventually, I received an opportunity to go into outside sales with a rep agency and worked my way south to Florida. I became an outside sales person with International Fasteners in 1998 and learned about construction fasteners. I eventually became the National Sales Manager and these days, I am their Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
One of my favorite parts of my job is having the opportunity to get out in the “fastener world” and meet with our customers and network with peers at all of the association events and trade shows. I have met so many wonderful people over the years and my time spent on industry boards has been an experience of a lifetime and part of what I’m most proud of my time spent in the industry.
So what don’t you know about me…I have been in the fastener industry for more than half of my lifetime, of course I did start when I was 12 :-)"
