Meet Casey Broderick - WIFI@Work
Casey Broderick is the President of All America Threaded Products. She's been with AATP for three years. She graduated from Stanford with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
What do you like about working for All America Threaded Products?
I enjoy bringing a fresh perspective to a traditional manufacturing operation. We have introduced technology, data analytics and lean manufacturing techniques, which have had a very significant impact on customer service and profitability. I am also very proud that our new outlook on employee involvement has improved job satisfaction.
What made you get involved in the fastener industry?
I have spent most of my career in manufacturing, which was a logical extension of a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Manufacturing allows me to concentrate on logistical problems, those where you can really visualize what is going on and where you have an immediate sense if your solution is working.
What would your sales pitch be to a young woman who might be considering joining the fastener industry?
I once attended a conference where Tom Linebarger, CEO of Cummins Inc., explained that Cummins strives for gender-balanced plants, as they believe the broader mix of skills improves the overall performance of the company. "I think that women underestimate how well-suited they are to the manufacturing industry, which suffers from a lack of diversity of perspective and where a woman’s tendency towards non-linear thought unlocks new solutions to problems that involve complicated networks of people and processes."(1)
